Notable Decline in Demand for Residential Apartments in Jordan

Al-Taj News – The housing sector is facing increasing pressures amid rising financing costs and construction material prices, along with the continued repercussions of regional conditions, which have affected market demand, according to sector investors.

Investors said demand for residential apartments has recorded a notable decline during the current period, exceeding 30% compared with the same period last year, noting that higher interest rates on housing loans and increased construction costs have limited citizens’ ability to own homes and affected market activity.

The volume of real estate trading in Jordan during the first five months of the current year reached approximately 2.458 billion dinars, down 5% compared with the same period in 2025, according to the Department of Lands and Survey’s report for May.
